Police holding 9 people over multi-million fake gold deal

Police in Entebbe is holding nine people for allegedly being involved in a fake gold deal worth USD160000.

These arrests follows an earlier report at Entebbe Police Station on 6th June 2018 by a Sudan national regarding gold theft valued at USD160000 (10kgs).

The suspects were arrested from Entebbe and in Kampala, a search carried out at their other premises in Kiwafu, Kansanga in Makindye Division and the following exhibits were recovered;15.5 rolls of brass rods, a fake gold refinery machinery at Gold Soko Africa Limited premises in Kasanga, horse pipes, powder, two pairs of radio communication chargers, motor vehicle, forged trade licenses and stamps among others.

The suspects have been identified as Dorcus Chibasi, Samson Onyango Wesonga a Kenyan national, Godfrey Kadimba, a security guard at Rangers Security Limited, Rajiv and Manda Mpoyi a Congolese national. The other suspects Immaculate Nsimire, Bachigeya Milenge, Hagen Sadik, Mustafah Ahongeze who have been identified as workers of Gold Soko Africa Limited.

The suspects are currently detained by Aviation Police team in Entebbe to assist in the investigation process.
