Museveni, 73, to award 41-year-old Ethiopian Prime minister with Uganda’s highest medal

Uganda’s president Yoweri Museveni will honour Ethiopian Prime Minister with the country’s highest medal for African heroes, according to the presidency minister.

The Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed, 41, will be recognised on Heroes Day, for his contribution to the independence struggle of Africa, said Minister Esther Mbayo, on Wednesday.

PM Abiy Ahmed will be awarded the Pearl of Africa Grand Master medal on Saturday. The medal is awarded to heads of state who have made a contribution towards the independence struggle of Africa. Rwandan leader Paul #Kagame and Equatorial Guinea’s president Teodoro #Obiang #Nguema Mbasogo are some of the African leaders to receive this honour in Uganda.

Abiy promises to be another transformational leader for Ethiopia which is fast becoming an African giants, focusing on small scale factories as well ambitious industrial parks manufacturing leather products for export.

According to Wikipedia, the New Ethiopian PM received his first degree in Computer Engineering. He has masters degrees in Transformational Leadership and Change as well as Master of Business Administration. Last year, Abiy finished his PhD for which he wrote a thesis entitled “Social Capital and its Role in Traditional Conflict Resolution in Ethiopia: The Case of Inter-Religious Conflict In Jimma Zone state”.
