Edward Kisuze, a Makerere University senior administrative assistant charged with sexually harassing a female student has today been granted bail by Buganda Road Chief Magistrate James Mawanda Eremye.
Kisuze was granted cash bail of shs2 million , whereas each of his three sureties was ordered to sign a bond of 10 million shillings.
The accused person, Kisuze, a faculty registrar at the College of Computing and Information Science is charged with attempted rape and indecent assault of one Rachel Njoroge Njeri.
Last Friday, Kisuze through his lawyer, Kenneth Munungu, applied for bail by presenting four sureties who tendered in their identification documents as guarantee that they will ensure that the suspect does not abscond from court.
However, in reply, the state prosecutor, Viola Tusigwiire sought court to adjourn the matter to allow her time to scrutinize the authenticity of the sureties’ documents before court can consider the suspects bail application.
Kisuze was arrested in April after being exposed by Njoroge through leaking a photo of her with the administrator when he is trying to go down on her.
