At least six Makerere University students including the guild president Papa Were Salim have today been arrested as students strike over unfair policies.
The students are protesting over the increased tuition fees, missing marks, scrapping off hall meals, evening lectures, end of semester exams and sponsorship of students on National merit.
Apparently, police is in running battles with the students and it is firing live bullets and teargas to disperse off the striking students.
