SC Villa consolidates summit spot after away win against Soana

Sports Club Villa Jogoo ensured yet another victory, winning on the road 2-0 against Soana at the Kavumba Recreational Stadium in the Azam Uganda Premier League on Wednesday.

Martin Kizza and Allan Kyambadde scored the goals for the 16 time league winners.

The rescheduled game that was carried forward by 24 hours because of a flooded ground witnessed a goal apiece in each half.

Martin Kizza scored the opener just two minutes into the game.

Goalkeeper Samson Kirya saved a penalty in the 14th minute from Allan Kayiwa.

In the second half, Allan Kyambadde buried the game with the match winner 13 minutes from full time.

The Jogoos suffered two injuries in the match. First, Godfrey Lwesibawa was stretchered off for Mahad Yaya inside 20 minutes, and later left back John Adriko limped out for Ramathan Dudu inside the final 10 minutes.

The win maintains SC Villa Jogoo on the top of the league standings with 46 points from 23 matches.

SC Villa Jogoo will host Police in the next match at Masaka Recreational Stadium.
