Kin Kaliisa has suspended NBS TV’s news manager John Baptist Imokola in a move that has shocked the Kamwokya based television station staff.
Imokola who joined NBS from Makerere University where he was a lecturer was sent home for two weeks for not running a news bulletin on December 31 2017, the day President Museveni gave an address to the nation at 7pm.
Kaliisa who has made a long list of people to kick out of his television early this year sounded the drum by throwing the news room boss under the bus on Wednesday and replaced him with Joyce Bagala.
However the newsroom froze at the announcement of the new boss after Kin didn’t put any of Imokola’s three deputies in charge raising questions on the future of the new room management. Joyce Bagala has been an investigations editor at the station.
Sources at Kamwokya were told to apply for Imokola’s job an offer they turned down on two grounds namely: it did not make sense to apply for a job of a suspended staff and two, the news had infiltrated that Kin planned to replace Imokola with Joyce.
