After failing to take part in last year’s edition of the East African University games that took place at Kenyatta University, Kansanga based university Kampala International University (KIU) sportsmen are this time set for the 2017 Inter university games.

The games that shall be hosted by Ndejje University have attracted KIU sportsmen to train tirelessly in order to catch up with the fitness levels of those who played in last year’s edition.

The sports tutor of KIU Ms Annet Kabasindi said that the sportsmen are in good shape to represent the university and that they are doing their level best to make sure that KIU takes part in this years edition.

“Missing last year’s edition does not dictate to us that we must lose. This time round we are set to be number one.” said Kabasindi.

Among the games to be competed for are volleyball, soccer, basketball, swimming, woodball, karate and many more.

The head coach for KIU woodball team Agaba Julius said that this is the time for his players to prove to Ndejje that they are a mile far away.

“I commend the squad that i’m taking. Previously Ndejje dominated the game since they are the factory. But in this edition, my team is set to disprove them” Said Agaba.

Apparently over 100 sportsmen are done with their semester exams and are  training tirelessly to make sure they do not disappoint the university owner Hassan Basajabalaba who has offered much to make sure that the sports fraternity moves a mile.
