A poor woman has given birth in the bush outside Kamuli General Hospital following health workers’ strike.

The unidentified woman was helped by a good Samaritan to deliver outside the hospital after failing to get the required medical attention.

It should be noted that the doctors strike has entered day seven after government’s failure to work on their grievances.

The striking health workers had promised to work on emergencies like accidents, giving birth among others unfortunately this mother has not been helped.

The medical workers declared strike on Monday at their annual general assembly held at Makerere University College of Health Sciences in Mulago which strike has paralyzed health care services in all public hospitals across the country.

Apparently, doctors demand increment in salaries and duty allowances of health professionals, review the supply chain and management of medicines, vaccines and medical supplies, as well as disband the State House Medicine and Health Service Delivery Monitoring Unit.
