Police have today summoned the Editor of the Saturday Vision to the Criminal Investigations Directorate Headquarters in Kibuli for questioning over Gen. Kale Kayihura story.

Last Saturday New Vision issued an article titled ‘Kayihura security beefed up’ on the front page and on page three.

Hill Water

According to CID Director, Oketcho Isaac, the New Vision article was intended to disturb the peace, quiet or right to privacy of the police boss.

“You are therefore in pursuance of the provisions of section 27A of the police act (as amended) required to report before the undersigned at CID Headquarters Kibuli on 30 Oct2017 at 1500hrs in that regard,” said Oketcho.

On Sunday Gen. Kayihura issued a statement also rubbishing the New Vision story.

He said he was compelled to respond to the story because it was full of falsehoods.

“I have not changed my security detail as reported. Am guarded by police guards and not the army. My home is as free as it has always been,” he noted.

Kayihura says whoever is behind the stories is motivated by malice with sinister motives.

“Recall that a few months back, social and main media were awash with fabricated stories that I had been ‘mysteriously taken ill’, with some saying I was in fact dead. There’s no doubt that the same evil elements are at it again,” stated Kayihura adding that, “ Let me assure members of the general public that I am safe and well, going about my duties ,normally,”
