Police arrest man for raping his social media followers

Natete Police Station is holding a man suspected for raping a 21 year old Kampala International University student.
The suspect identified as Kivumbi Omar aka Hamim Senfuka,muganda by tribe,resident of Kabojja an upcoming businessman in Natete according to the OC Station ASP.Muhammad Byansi has been luring his victims through social media platforms of Facebook,Twitter,Tagged, WhatsApp and Snapchat.

Omar met his victim through Facebook,maintained a clear interaction with her for close to 6 months.

Omar exchanged WhatsApp numbers and phone contacts with his prey as he gained her trust. She was later invited to Star hotel Nansana where he requested her to escort him home to change clothes to a working attire. Having maintained a 6 months relationship the unsuspecting girl escorted her friend without prior knowledge that the man was posing as a wolf in the sheep’s skin.

On reaching the house, Omar inserted a flat iron into the socket and threatened to burn and kill if she dared not to make love to him. This prompted the girl to succumb in fear for her life. She was then dropped off at Nsambya where she immediately communicated to her parents who immediately took her for medical examination and first aid.
A rape case was reported SD ref. 05/23/10/2017.

It has been noted that the suspect has been a habitual rapist so far with a record of 6 rape cases in one year registered at various stations

Kampala Metropolitan Police would like to warn the public against falling for these hoax promises as their whole intention is to defraud their victims and the public is also advised to avoid engaging in conversations with strangers through social media.
