Uganda’s oldest political party Democratic Party (DP) members will on Thursday march to parliament protesting against the amendment of article 102b of the constitution.

While addressing the media on Tuesday at party headquarters in Kampala, the party president Norbert Mao said they will be few in number;not more than 50 and they will march from city house to the parliament with their banners.

“We have already informed the speaker of parliament that we will be in parliament premises for three hours to discuss national issues, we have designed beautiful banners in different colours of our political parties which will be used in taking selfies, and each member will use the banners of their party to take selfies.” He said.

Mao said this move is aimed at stopping the lifting of presidential age limit in the constitution.

It should be noted that on the same day some NRM MPs led by Igara West MP Raphael Magezi will be tabling a private members bill before the parliament which seeks to scrap off presidential age limit.
