Following an extra ordinary general meeting by the judges and magistrates under their umbrella body, the Uganda Judicial Officers Association (UJOA) on Tuesday this week, they resolved to lay down their tools today on Friday after government’s failure to solve their grievances.
According to UJOA executive, they gave government 30 days to look into their demands but the ultimatum has elapsed and nothing tangible has been proposed by the concerned parties.
Apparently, all judicial officers have not reported for work and any members who try to violate the directive shall be deregistered since the industrial action applies to all members.
The association has further revealed that the Industrial Action is indefinite pending acceptable communication from the executive.
