RDC grabs poor man’s land, cuts down two acres of coffee???? plantation

The residents of Buikwe district are in utter shock after a ruthless Residence District Commissioner (REC) by names Nasser Munuulo took power in his hands to grab land belonging to a poor old man and slashed his two acres coffee and banana plantation.

According to website EBJA which run by an association of journalists in Eastern Buganda region, Munuulo used his authority to deploy police officers to give him protection while cutting down Ssalongo Samuel Kibuuka’s plantation situated in Kituula Village, Najja sub county in Buikwe district.

After destroying Kibuuka’s plantation, Munuulo with his aides started marking 50×100 plots ready for sale.

Kibuuka explains that the court case the RDC based on of 1999 ruled in his favor saying that he should remain as a kibanja holder and Kisitu as a land lord but not to evict him but to his dismay Munuulo contradicted the law thus grabbing his land.

According to residents, they tried to intervene to rescue the situation but police officers vowed to shoot them.
