Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development Matia Kasaija has asked government to help him eradicate corrupt officials that are working in his ministry.
Kasaija said this during Uganda Martyrs University church fundraising that was held at Rubaga campus in Kampala.
“Whenever I walk people call me the king of thieves because there is no corrupt ministry as the ministry of finance,” Kasaija said.
He added that many ministry officials are too corrupt but lacks evidence that can nail them yet they are giving the ministry a poor and bad reputation.
“I urge you students to be the first pillar in stopping corruption in the country by not giving out bribes to corrupt government officials,” Kasaija urged.
Kasaija further asked the church to continue teaching students the fear for sin and crimes because a church is a home that teachs people good behavior of the society.
He concluded that the students of business should apply for jobs in his ministry in order to stop corrupt officers from destroying the ministry because it caters for the country’s finances.
