Early this year, faceless government critic Tom Voltaire Okwalinga (TVO) was supposed to have an interview with The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) but in the due process, he declined the offer without giving a clear explanation as to why he did so.
Now the anonymous facebooker has decided to reveal the reason why he declined the interview.
According to TVO, BBC through its correspondent in Uganda Catherine Byaruhanga Kemigisha asked him for an interview but the manner in which they insisted they wanted to carry out the interview, raised a red flag and that BBC is infested with people friendly to President Yoweri Museveni.
“THE BRITISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION (BBC); THROUGH THEIR CORRESPONDENT IN UGANDA CATHERINE BYARUHANGA KEMIGISHA ,ASKED ME FOR AN INTERVIEW AND I DECLINED, BECAUSE THE MANNER IN WHICH THEY INSISTED THEY WANTED TO CARRY OUT THE INTERVIEW, RAISED A RED FLAG.SECONDLY THAT PLACE IS INFESTED WITH PEOPLE FRIENDLY TO MUSEVENI,”
For years TVO has been exposing crimes of several government officials and they have been trying to manhunt him but in vain.
