Erias Lukwago: I doubt that Minister Musumba is at ease with his conscience after de-campaigning his wife

State Minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Development (Urban Development) Isaac Isanga Musumba last week came out openly to declare his undying support for NRM candidate Rehemah Wetongola , denouncing his wife Salaamu Musumba who is on a FDC ticket.

The two are competing for Kamuli Parliamentary seat in the By election.

Hill Water

Isaac Isanga said though Salaama is his wife, he urges people to vote for Wetongola.

However, Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago did not feel at ease on hearing about such decision from Minister Isanga.

According to Lukwago, Isanga invoked the doctrine of conflict of interest whereby he was involved in the Kamuli by elections yet he was not supposed to due to his political stand and that of his wife.

The Lord Mayor doubts whether Isanga is at ease with his conscience thus sending heartfelt sympathies to Salaamu and their children who will have to endure the awful spectacle of a father vigorously de-campaigning their mother.

“I do hold my brother Isaac Musumba in high regard, but as an astute lawyer he presumably is, ought to have invoked the doctrine of “conflict of interest” to withdraw from the Kamuli Municipality by-election. I doubt that he is at ease with his conscience. Now that Salaam Musumba is destined for a landslide victory, I wonder whether he will match arm- in- arm with her as she takes oath and assumes the seat in parliament!. My heartfelt sympathies to, not the seen-it-all Proscovia Salaamu-Musumba, but the innocent children who have to endure the awful spectacle of a father vigorously de-campaigning their mother.!” Lukwago stated.
