Ministry of health is set to renovate Kawolo and Busolwe hospitals with US$ 20 million that has been given to the ministry from the Ugandan and Spanish governments.
Diana Atwine the Permanent Secretary in Ministry of Health said that they got US$ 2 million from the Ugandan government and the US$ 18 million was got from the Spanish government to renovate these hospitals which turned out to be in very poor conditions.
“We are going to expand the structures and renovate some of the buildings which are still in good shape at these two hospitals.” Atwine said.
Atwine added that they are going to consult and get assistance from international contractors from Spain which means they are not going to give contracts to part time contractors.
“We are going to improve on the medical equipments in these hospitals and very kin on the quality of the products.” Atwine asserted.
Atwine further added that there are going to be full supervision and monitoring of every stage of the renovation of these hospitals.
