Former Buganda Premier Mayanja Nkanji honoured

Joash Mayanja Nkanji, the former Katikiro of Buganda passed on yesterday morning due to complications of pneumonia at Nakasero hospital where he had been hospitalized for two weeks.

Many people from the government of Uganda and Buganda kingdom have been saddened by the news of his death.

Nkanji is remembered and honored for having kept ddamula after kabaka Mutesa 11 had been exiled by Milton Obote.

He is remembered to have lived a life of self sacrifice and service to others.

On 8 March, 2017 Nkanji will be taken to Buganda parliament,Mengo then on 9 he will be taken to st Luke church Ntinda for prayers where he used to go for prayers.

Later that day he will be taken to the parliament for the Members of Parliament s last glance.

Nkanji will later be laid in Kanyogoga, kalungu district on Friday 10 march 2017.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
