Six Ugandans killed by the internet but fortunately still alive and kicking

For a while internet has been a platform of ‘killing’ several prominent people not only in Uganda but the world over irrespective of their being alive and kicking.

Here are some of the prominent Ugandans who have been killed by the internet;

1.Dr Kizza Besigye

Four time Forum for Democratic Change(FDC) presidential candidate was announced dead in 2007 by some social media platforms.

But while appearing on Voice of America show in USA, Besigye refuted the death rumour saying it was one of President Yoweri Museveni’s tactics to sabotage his plans.

2. Betty Nambooze

The Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament, Betty Nambooze was announced dead on internet by some ‘evil sites’ in June 2016.

However, the Democratic Party ‘iron lady’ came out to decline the allegations.

3. Ann Kansiime

In October 2016, a rumour that Africa’s best female comedian Anne Kansiime had died in South Africa arose.

Kansiime said in a Facebook post that rumors started online
prompted many phone calls to her comedy with people concerned about her well-being, but she assured everyone
that there is no need to worry.
4. Sudhir Ruparelia

On Saturday, wide spread rumour hit social media indicating how Uganda’s richest man Sudhir Ruparelia had died.

Fortunately, his son Rajiv Ruparelia came out to clear the air saying the property mogul was busy having some quality time with his family.

5. Eddy Kenzo

In December last year, some ruthless social media users announced singer Eddy Kenzo dead after getting involved in a nasty car accident.

However, the BET winner cameout to rubbish all the rumours saying they were baseless and untrue.

6. King Saha

In 2015, first rising singer,Manisul Semanda commonly known as King Saha was killed by the internet yet he was still alive and kicking.

Some social media users posted saying that the singer had died and the rumour spread like wildfire.

King Saha however,came out and declined the death rumour.
