Former Speaker of the East Africa Legislative Assembly Margaret Zziwa has written to the clerk of the Assembly informing him of her intention to resume her duties.
This follows a pronouncement of the East African Court of Justice on 3rd February, that her earlier suspension and impeachment were illegitimate.
Zziwa was impeached in December 2014 after members of the assembly accused her of inappropriate conduct.
In 2012, the third East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) elected Zziwa as its first female Speaker.
