In this interview, we learn about dfcu Bank’s latest promotion that allows customers to pay their utility bills at no cost. Dubbed ‘Rates Paka Chini’, this initiative aims to ease customer expenses and support the local economy by encouraging seamless payment processes. Annette Kiconco, the Chief Retail Banking Officer at dfcu Bank, talks about more about the promotion in this interview.

Q1: What is the main objective of dfcu Bank’s new utilities and statutory collections campaign?

dfcu Bank: The primary objective of our campaign is to make utility and statutory payments more convenient, affordable and accessible for all our customers. We want to ensure that payments such as UMEME, UEDCL, NWSC, URA and NSSF contributions are handled with ease, security, and efficiency. By using the dfcu Quick Banking app, customers can make these payments from the comfort of their homes or offices, anytime and anywhere.

Q2: What benefits are customers entitled to during this campaign?

dfcu Bank: During the campaign, we’re offering substantial discounts on payment fees. Customers who use our dfcu Quick Banking app will enjoy a 100% discount on fees, effectively making the service free during this period. For those who prefer to make payments in-person at our branches, we’re offering a 50% discount on fees. This is an opportunity for our customers to experience the convenience and cost savings of digital payments while still having access to traditional banking services.

Q3: How does dfcu Bank ensure the security of customers’ online payments?

dfcu Bank: Security is a top priority for dfcu Bank. We use advanced encryption technologies and multi-factor authentication to safeguard our customers’ transactions and personal information. Our online platforms are regularly monitored and audited to prevent unauthorized access and detect any potential threats. Customers can confidently use our online channels, knowing that their payments are secure and protected.

Q4: What about customers who are not familiar with online banking?

dfcu Bank: We recognize that some customers may prefer in-person services or may not be familiar with online banking. For these customers, our branches remain open and fully operational during the campaign. Our staff are available to assist with payments and to guide customers through the process.
Additionally, these customers can still benefit from a 50% discount on fees when they make payments at our branches and will also be trained on how to conveniently make payments via our online channels. We’re committed to providing options that suit all our customers’ needs.

Q5: Why is it important for customers to make timely payments during this campaign?

dfcu Bank: Timely payments are crucial for avoiding penalties, maintaining uninterrupted services, and staying in good standing with service providers and regulatory bodies. Our campaign is designed to encourage customers to make their payments on time by offering them a more convenient and cost-effective way to do so. By taking advantage of our online channels and the fee discounts available, customers can ensure that their payments are made promptly and without any complications.

Q6: Are there any plans to continue offering these discounts after the campaign ends?

dfcu Bank: While the current discounts are specific to this campaign, we are always exploring ways to provide value to our customers. The success and feedback from this campaign will help us determine future promotions and incentives. Our goal is to continue offering innovative and customer-focused solutions conveniently, efficiently and affordably with an objective of enhancing banking experience for all our clients.

Q7: How can customers get started with making payments through dfcu’s online channels?

dfcu Bank: Getting started is simple! Customers can download the dfcu QuickApp from the App Store or Google Play Store. Once registered, they can easily navigate to the payments section and follow the prompts to make their utility or statutory payments. For those who need assistance, our customer support team is available to help guide them through the process(Question, should we mention the dfcu quick code here, dial *240# and follow the prompts to make payment.
