“Many SACCOs are not active yet they passed the 2 year probation which means they should be operating now,” Baligye said.

He added that the exercise is going to cover all the districts in Uganda to identify the non active and active SACCOs in order to budget for them properly.

“SACCOs are given two years probation and then they can come back at our offices to retain a permanent license to operate,” Baligye added.

Baligye also added that the non active SACCOs will be removed from the list that will be helped commercially.
