Police in Rubanda are hunting for unknown assailants who allegedly murdered a 60 year old man.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesman, Elly Mate has confirmed the murder of one Benson Bukabeba a resident of Karukara village Hamurwa sub county Rubanda district.
“He was waylaid yesterday night at around 9:00PM on his way home from Karukara trading centre, cut severely on the head and died instantly,”Mate said.
He added that “the police scene of crime officers visited the scene and collected forensic evidence to be used in hunting for the murderers.”
The body was taken to Kabale Referral Hospital pending postmortem examination.
Inquiries are underway and the police urges anyone with information leading to arrest of the assailants to report to any police so as to bring the culprits to book .
