Following reports of the death Eng. Badru Kiggundu, the former Electoral Commission Chairman, Watchdog Uganda has acted swiftly to establish the truth behind the rumour.

The death rumour involving the veteran former head of the electoral body has widely been reported on social media, prompting a public shock.

According to a local news website, Kiggundu is reported to have died from Case Clinic in Kampala where he had reportedly been admitted for a couple of days.

The cause of death is Covid-19, according to the rumours.

However, in a telephone conversation with Watchdog News a few minutes ago, Mr Kiggundu assured the country he is alive and very fine.

He thus called upon the public to desist from acting on the information provided by bad intentioned people aiming to cause panic.

At the time of the interview, Kiggundu was at his work place at National Water and Sewerage Cooperation going about his work normally.

” Disregard all those reports. Engineer Kiggundu is alive and very health. I am even doing my work normally,” Said Mr Kiggundu.
