Former Ivory Coast captain and all-time record goal scorer Didier Drogba will reportedly run for presidency of the Ivorian Football Federation (IFF).

Drogba is reportedly considering challenging Augustin Sidy Diallo as president of the IFF, ahead of the next election set to take place in November this year.

According to French publication, L’Equipe, the former Chelsea FC is mulling over the decision to run for the top footballing administrative position in his homeland just months after retiring from professional football.

The four-time Premier League winner joined the Confederation of African Football (Caf) as an advisor to president Ahmad Ahmad before the start of the the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and his role alongside Samuel Eto’o was recently clarified.

The report added the former African Footballer of the Year award winner has already opened talks with the IFF advisers who are now consulting the major stakeholders in the game for their feedback.

Drogba played 105 times for The Elephants and scored 65 goals over his 12-year international career.
