The outgoing Archdeacon of All Saints Church Kabale, Reverend Canon Gaddie Akanjuna on Sunday bid farewell to Christians of All Saints Archdeaconry as he prepares for his enthronement and Consecration as the 6th Bishop of Kigezi Diocese.

Akanjuna who will be consecrated and enthroned as Bishop on 29th May 2022 at Kigezi High school primary playground, replacing Rt. Rev. George Bagamuhunda, was elected in February this year by the House of Bishops of the Church of Uganda at Lweza Training and Conference Centre.

Preparations to enthrone and consecrate him are in high gear in the Diocese.

Speaking yesterday during a special service to bid farewell to Christians at All saints Church Kabale in Kabale Municipality, Rev Akanjuna who was accompanied by several priests said that God gives his people the power to be what he wants them to be, adding that he is preparing to be the next Bishop despite of a few individuals who are against the God’s call for him to go and serve. He hoped that God who chose him would enable him to be Enthroned and Consecrated.

He commended the Christians for peacefully working with him and asked them to continue the cooperation in the coming position he is taking up.

Speaking during the service, the Kabale Municipality Mayor Emmanuel Sentaro Byamugisha told Christians that a razor blade is sharp but it can’t cut a tree, all the tendencies to bring down what God has brought are all in vain. He added that as Municipal Authorities they will always support him in his tenure.

The head of the laity for All Saints church Archdeaconry Michael Kenneth Bekunda, commended Akanjuna for promoting Evangelism, opening the office of fathers union at Allsaints church, ensuring proper accountability, starting a healing and deliverance service at Allsaints, and among the several achievements during his 2 and half years he has been at Allsaints Church.
