Police in Rubanda District has in detention a 67 year old man over aggravated defilement.
The suspect identified as Girigori Owago of Matakara village Ikamiro parish Muko Sub County Rubanda district allegedly had carnal knowledge with a 13 year old girl on the 27/09/2020 at around 4pm from his home.
The victim, a resident of Habuhinga village, had been sent by her mother to go and pick money from somewhere and on her way back home, heavy rains started before she sought shelter in suspect’s home where he took advantage.
After the unfortunate act, the girl went back home crying and informed the mother who reported the matter to police and was arrested on 29/09/2020.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi regional police spokesperson has confirmed the incident.
“Inquiries underway, after which the suspect will be arraigned in courts of law to answer charges accordingly,” Maate said
This case has been registered at Rubanda police under file number CRB 334/2020.
