Service delivery has come to a standstill at Kabale Municipal Council after the Ministry of Finance froze the Municipality’s accounts.
While addressing the Municipal council on Wednesday, the Kabale Municipal mayor, Sentaro Byamugisha, said the ministry froze their accounts, following an error in the disbursement of funds for the new financial year.
Kabale Municipal Council had submitted a budget of Shs2 billion to the Ministry of Finance for the 2019/2020 financial year, but the ministry mistakenly sent Shs7 billion to the municipality account which has put service delivery at standstill.
