Ziggy has been one of the pressure group’s social media ‘soldiers’, who used to disseminate online news on the activities and projects within the movement.

According to Bobi Wine, the singer’s current condition is so bad, he lost most of his senses, and can only survive by the grace of God.

“My close friend and fellow artiste Ziggy Wine was Kidnapped a couple of weeks back, beaten beyond recognition, his left eye plucked out, two of his figure cut off, all his belongings taken and dumped in Mulago Hospital and left for dead. Ziggy is in such a bad state that he lost nearly all his senses and now survive on God’s mercy. This is one of the very many saddening stories across the country sanctioned by the very people whose duty is to protect us.”

Recently, People Power’s spokesperson Joel Senyonyi tasked Uganda Police to investigate the brutal attacks on their members. He claimed that a big number of their mobilizers and supporters have been brutalized by Police and other state security agencies.

He alleged that a People Power mobilizer in Buvuma Island, Salongo Stephan Lukoma was shot dead by a security agent, in the same week, Moses Okot Bitek in Amolator District was shot and injured by the bodyguard of a Resident District Commissioner (RDC). In Gulu District, an artiste, Bosimic Otim also a People Power mobilizer was beaten and injured on the head by security agents in Gulu while shooting a video of his People Power song.
