Last year, social entrepreneur also motivational speaker Frank Gashumba fell out with NBS TV and he was sent packing from ‘The Eagle’ show which he had pioneered.

In his defence, Gashumba revealed that he wasn’t sacked as it was alleged and he accused NBS management of being used by some people from Buganda Kingdom and Uganda Communication Commission to suppress people like him.

In response NBS came up with a completely contradicting statement alleging that Gashumba was suspended because he allegedly involved himself in a fraud case against some members of the public.

The allegations annoyed Gashumba thus opting to drag the broadcasting company to court over defamation.

Now, NBS has bowed to pressure from Ssisimuka Uganda boss and they have decided to apologize to him for the erroneous statements they made earlier.

In a letter dated 17 May, 2018, the company’s secretary Muhamad Ali Kajubi admitted that the statements which were made by their Chief Marketing Officer on Facebook against Gashumba were inaccurate.

“The purpose of this press release is to retract those statements conveyed in that letter and apologize for the inconvenience and /or embarrassment the letter caused Mr. Frank Gashumba, his family, friends and associates. We also wish to assure the public that we have since discovered after our investigations that the allegations made were false,” said Kajubi

“We trust this matter can now be laid  to rest,” he added.
