Vision Group Chief Executive Officer Robert Kabushenga has asked Ugandans to pray for abducted New Vision journalist Charles Etukuri.
In a tweet, Kabushenga says Etukuri is being detained illegally for doing his job as a journalist.
According to Kabushenga, the detained journalist needs regular medication and a specific diet to deal with his ailment but he hasn’t had both ever since he was taken away.
“Today when U go to church, pray for our .@newvisionwire reporter Charles Etukuri. He is detained illegally for doing his work as a journalist. Charles needs regular medication & a specific diet to deal with his ailment. He hasn’t had both since he was taken away! God help him??,” Kabushenga tweeted.
Etukuri was allegedly kidnapped outside Vision Group premises on Tuesday afternoon by men dressed in military fatigue. They were reportedly driving a double cabin vehicle Reg No. UAH 038A.
New Vision management allege that Etukuri’s kidnap is likely connected to the stories he covered last Saturday and Sunday about the alleged murders. The murders were linked to officials in Internal Security Organisation (ISO) and Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI).
