‘Slay queen’ is the new name for prostitutes, gold diggers

By John C Kazooba

For many years, a woman who chose to make a living by selling her body was a called a prostitute. Such a woman either paraded her body on known streets such as Speke Road, Nile Avenue or their male customers would find them in brothels, bars or townships such as Kabalagala, Kisenyi or Bwaise.

Whereas they were looked down as by some fellow women, the truth of the matter, more women today are engaged in prostitution than they are willing to admit.

Hill Water

The prostitution profession has evolved and the women vending their services on the red light streets are the minority, or backward.

Today, there is a high likelihood you are sitting next to a prostitute in your office, or church. Your corporate neighbour might be a high class prostitute and your group WhatsApp might be having a number of them.

The first mark of a prostitute is looking at which woman whose eyes pop up when she sees a famous, rich or powerful man joining the group. Who works themselves silly to be noticed? That is the group prostitute. She could be a church member who knows which man driving the Benz E-class and sweats her ass to get an opportunity to get his number.

In the beginning they came as gold diggers. They first called the guys demeaning names including “sugar daddies”. The truth is. It is only a prostitute who will sleep with any man they don’t love but for money.

With social media the girls have upped their game. They advertise themselves under the name the phenomenon called Slay Queens. It is easy. Post as many photos flaunting  your behind, legs, lips, boobs, name it. Then, wait for the highest bidder to remove the knickers!

Slay queens should indeed be silly. If they are not prostitutes, why pose for photographs parading their bodies? Social media is the new red light street where prostitutes called slay queens, parade their bodies.

Whose validation do they need? Nay, it is to entice men. They ask, don’t I look good? In those Likes and Comments, silly queens have their targets.

Today’s slay queens are none but prostitutes and if you are dating one, know who are with. Slay queens sell their bodies to the highest bidder. And guess what, social media is the new Red Night district.
