Police officer shoots dead LC3 Chairperson’s son following a bar brawl

A police officer has shot dead a son of LC3 chairperson after having a misunderstanding in the bar on Thursday in Sembabule.

Canan Nkamuhabwa, attached to PPG escort of cousin of the president  is reported to have shot Paul Tumukunde, 31, a son of Fred Karakure, the Lugusulu Sub- county chairperson.

According to Lamek Kigozi, spokesman Masaka region, the incident occurred at the shop of one katushabe Grace where the suspect alleges to have been slapped by the deceased and opened gun fire on the deceased, shot him two bullets which ripped through his armpits killing him instantly.

“Three people are arrested who where with Nkamuhaabwa at that time, army private kasigazi Abbey, PC Nkamuhaabwa and the driver Abaasa Johnson, they where travelling in MV reg no UG 2036C A land cruiser. The trio is in custody at sembabule police station, pm done at sembabule health center and body handed over to relatives,” said Kigozi.
