Kansanga based university Kampala International [KIU] has promised to make women its top priority during this year’s Labour Day celebrations.
Speaking to the media on Friday afternoon in a monthly round table kit, Dr Janice D Busingye, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for the university said that KIU celebrate women who work tirelessly and strive to make the institution the top private university in Uganda.
According to statistics shared, KIU female employees take a larger number of staff that male, with figures of 25:22 in the senate, 6:13 in management, 15:9 in the HOD, as well as 10:1 directors respectively.
These statistics in total give a number of 54 ladies and 47 gentlemen in the different managerial skills.
“I believe the ladies have to be celebrated this time round. We as ladies go through allot. It’s time for us to come out and sharpen our voices” Says Dr. Janice.
She added that the board of staff of the university enables its employees to create their own career paths through decisions and drive change that is necessary.
