Kampala will host one of the biggest ICT summits on the continent next week at Uganda’s top hotel, The Speke Resort Munyonyo.
The 15th annual Innovation Africa Digital Summit will take place between 25th-26th of April and is organised by Extensia in partnership with Uganda’s Ministry of ICT and National Guidance.
This is a high level gathering of key ICT decision makers from across Africa and is designed to support the continued growth of telecoms and ICT on the continent.
With a theme of ‘Smarter Thinking’, the two day agenda will explore how governments, large enterprises and service providers can utilise new technologies and improved connectivity to improve performance, efficiency, innovation and profitability.
Over the past 15 years, the IAD Summit has become Africa’s premier marketplace for policy makers, regulators, service providers and major end users to share ideas and best practices which will assist them in the efficient development of their roadmap to success through the use of ICT.
High level discussions, interactive workshops and private business meetings with leading international solution providers ensure the IAD Summit goes beyond the usual expectations.
By hosting the summit in Uganda, the government has ensured the top stakeholders in the country are exposed to these best practices and can develop a shared roadmap to their own, national ICT development strategies.
The organisers, Extensia Ltd, is a UK based company who have organised high level business summits in Africa for the past 15 years.
They have also developed an innovative business service called Extensia Bridge which connects buyers and sellers of ICT solutions and consultancy across a wide spectrum, in order to further facilitate the efficient and effective development of telecoms and ICT on the continent. Through this service, Extensia will be introducing some of the most innovative ICT solutions to the Ugandan market, during the IAD Summit, promising innovation and improvement opportunities to the local market.
Adrian Hall, COO of Extensia says, “Extensia are delighted to be returning to Uganda once again, to host IAD 2017. We held this summit in Uganda in 2009 and 2010 under it’s previous name, the ‘Digital Africa Summit’. Uganda has made great strides in the development of a National Broadband agenda and progressive ICT policies since we were last here.”
IAD 2017 will be attended by up to 300 attendees from 42 countries and 29 of these will be African nations.
Participants will include policy makers, regulators, service providers and major end users along with a carefully selected portfolio of innovative international solution providers.
