On Saturday, faceless government critic, Tom Voltaire Okwalinga (TVO) wrote on his Facebook wall allegeing that Democratic Party President General Norbert Mao was in Mbarara holding a secret meeting with police boss IGP Gen. Kale Kayihura at Lake View Hotel.
“AS I WRITE THIS, THE DP PRESIDENT NORBERT MAO IS HOLD UP IN A SECRET MEETING WITH KALE KAYIHURA AT LAKE VIEW HOTEL IN MBARARA.KAYIHURA STAYED AT THE HOTEL LAST NIGHT WITH ASUMAN MUGENYI, AND MAO STEALTHLY ENTERED IN THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING AND THEY ARE NOW IN ONE OF THE ROOMS .MORE SURVAILLANCE OF THE PLACE IS IN PROGRESS,” TVO posted.
However,angry Mao refuted the claims saying he was in Mbarara for baptism of the children of his friend thus urging people to ignore the usual TVO smear campaign.
“Nonsense. I am in Mbarara for baptism/confirmation of the children of a friend. Ignore the usual TVO smear campaign,” said Mao.
