Aruu South County MP, Odongo Otto yesterday came out openly to reveal how he was not going to vote for a fellow Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) member Ingrid Turinawe in the just concluded East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) elections.
Otto who is not in good terms with FDC’s former presidential candidate, Dr. Kizza Besigye has on several times threatened to quit the party following Besigye’s wife Winnie Byanyima’s move to stand as surety for murder suspect Matthew Kanyamunyu who shot dead a child activist Kenneth Akena who hailed from Northern Uganda.
Otto framed Byanyima’s move as promotion of impunity of the highest order saying that the people who should fight for the oppressed are now blocking justice.
“I am not going to vote for Ingrid Turinawe and by the way, come 2021, I am quitting FDC,” Otto said while at Parliament yesterday.
Ingrid lost miserably in EALA elections on Tuesday after getting only 25 votes.
