The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) will hold its upcoming sittings in Uganda from October 20th to November 12th, 2024. This announcement was made by the Speaker of Parliament, Right Honorable Annet Anita Among, during a parliamentary session today.

During her address, Speaker Among encouraged Members of Parliament (MPs) to attend the sessions if their schedules allow. She emphasized the importance of participating in these regional meetings, provided MPs are not engaged with committee work or voter commitments. “The EALA holds its sittings in different countries, and this time, they will be here in Uganda from October 20 to November 12. I urge you to attend if you’re not busy with committees or with voters,” she said.

The EALA, which serves as the legislative arm of the East African Community, rotates its sessions across member states, and Uganda is set to host the assembly this time.

This development marks another significant step in fostering regional integration within the East African Community (EAC), as representatives from various member states gather to deliberate on key regional issues.
