Fort Portal Resident City Commissioner Angalia Godwin Kasigwa Akiiki has challenged the youth in the city and Tooro Subregion as a whole to embrace the newly launched industrial hubs across the country to enhance their skills and livelihoods.
Officiating as the Chief Guest on Easter Monday at the Hon.Linda Irene Netball finals held at Buhinga Stadium, Angalia called upon the youthful participants to prioritize the skilling program under the industrial hubs already in Ntoroko, Tooro Subregion.
He cited hand skilling courses in shoe making, hairdressing, tailoring which will greatly improve the livelihoods of the vast youth who are unemployed but willing to be trained into ventures which will assist them earn a living.
Fort Portal City Woman Member of Parliament Hon.Linda Irene pledged to continue mobilising the vast community to take up all government programs more especially the Parish Development Model. She promised to continue lobbying for the people of Fort Portal City to better their lives.
Fort Portal is one of the cities with the highest percentage when it comes to embracing government programs on women, youth, PWDs among others.
