The continued cases of family breakups have been partly attributed to mistrust and hiding of accumulated wealth among married couples.
According to Anna Katiiti, from All Saints church Kabale, cases of men and women hiding accumulated wealth one attains in marriage life are on increase which has created unresolved misunderstandings resulting into family breakups.
Katiiti made remarks on Sunday while preaching at All Saints church Ntungamo during commemoration of St Mary’s Day and inauguration of women into Mothers Union held at their new site where a new church is to be built on Karazaarwe road Ntungamo Municipality.
She noted that some men tend to buy assets such as land and hide it from wives as well as women and when one dies suddenly everything is taken by strangers instead of family.
Katiiti called on married couples to be good ambassadors of their families as that is the bedrock of every marriage.
She urged all new entrants and old members of Mothers Union to embrace openness and trust which would positively influence others life, saying that any little action taken by a true believer could have tremendous impacts on others.
Rev. Ezra Mwesigwa the vicar All Saints Church Ntungamo appealed to the Mothers’ Union movement to take on the mantle of mentoring young mothers.
Rev Mwesigwa assisted by Rev Justus Niwahereza curate and lay reader Mercy Atwebembaire hailed Phellethie Nuwamanya the Mothers Union coordinator and all Christians for the cooperation in organizing the day.
At least eight women were inaugurated into Mothers’ Union including Rachael Agaba one of the business women at Jack Jex shopping Mall.
The climax of service was mothers’ Union competition of various items including reading the Holy Bible where St Paul’s Muyogo COU merged winner followed by St John’s Kikoni COU.
Over Shs3m was raised.
