The Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) President Hajj Bashir Kazibwe Mbaziira is suffering from a liver disorder, Watchdog Uganda has learnt.

The revelation was made on Tuesday by his wife Zulfah Kazibwe on social media.

Ms Kazibwe said the renowned nbs TV political show host is currently undergoing a specialized treatment in a yet to be disclosed hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.

She noted that doctors are doing everything possible to save his life from an ailment which has affected his liver.

“He is painfully and positively responding to the medication,” Ms Kazibwe said.

“As family we are humbled by the love, support and prayers extended to Kazibwe Bashir Mbaziira from Ugandans both at home and in the diaspora. For the time being, the situation is no longer critical. But Bashir surely needs everybody’s prayers to gain a full life.”

Kazibwe was last Friday flown out of the country for further medical attention after being discharged from International Hospital Kampala (IHK).

According to his close friend Sulaiman Kalule, they decided to leave IHK because his health condition was deteriorating each day that passed by.
