Today morning fire gutted Makerere University’s Mary Stuart female students Hall.
The massive fire which stated in the canteen on ground floor was beginning to spread to the other floors but was successfully contained by Police Fire Brigade which had dispatched seven fire fighting trucks.
According to Police Spokesperson Emilian Kayima, three female students were injured during the incident and apparently they are not in a bad state.
Police is yet to establish the cause of the fire and the full extent of damage.
“The investigation teams and Scenes of Crimes Officers are on ground to do that bit of the investigation. We commend the students and citizens who called the police quickly enabling us to quickly respond. We wish the injured the students quick recovery and parents need to calm down as there is no cause for alarm,” said Kayima.
