Nine people have on Friday been charged and remanded to Luzira prison until 1 June by Buganda Road court over the kidnap and murder of Susan Magara.
The group which appeared before Grade one Magistrate Charles Yeteise was barred from pleading to capital offenses of Kidnap with intent to murder which are only tried by the High Court.
Magara (28) who was working as an administrator for the family businesses as well as a cashier for Bwendo Dairy Farm in Hoima was kidnapped in Mengo as she left work to drive home in Lungujja on 7 February,2018.
The suspects include; an Imam of Usafi mosque Mahad Kasalita , Patrick Kasaija,Yusuf Lubega; a boda boda rider, Hussein Wasswa a hawker, Muzamiru Ssali ; a boda boda rider, Hajara Nakandi; a teacher, Abubaker Kyewolwa; a businessman, Hassan Kato Miiro and Ismail Bukenya ; a businessman.
Prosecution contends that the accused persons and others still at large on February 7, 2018 kidnapped Magara, a cashier with Bwendero Dairy Farm (BDF), with intent to procure a ransom or benefit from her liberation from the danger of being murdered.
It further alleges that the accused and others still at large on the February 27 at Kigo in Wakiso district murdered Magara.
