Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has issued tough guidelines to follow in case someone wants to replace a lost SIM card.
The tough guidelines include presenting a letter from NIRA verifying that user’s National ID is authentic and card will be used in a genuine type approved device.
According to a statement on Tuesday by UCC Executive Director Godfrey Mutabazi,re-registration of the applicant by telecom companies by using bio-metrics and photographs will be required.
He also says a person will also have to present a valid police report if he wants his SIM card replaced.
