Four handbag snatchers have today been arrested at Namirembe road after nabbing a handbag from a woman.
OC Namirembe Road Harunah Manaf said that these youth were arrested while scuffling for a handbag stolen from a female victim at new taxi park.
“We are always very vigilant whenever it comes to these petty thieves that target passengers disembarking from taxis. This prompted us to deploy overt and covert officers around these busy areas”, he said.
The arrested suspects are identified as Wahab Ssentongo, Ian Alikundira,Geoffrey Mayanja who snatched bags and wallets from the unsuspecting victims and Ali Kisambira of Namungoona who has been on the police watch list of the notorious pick pocketers since his return from serving a sentence in Luzira Prison two weeks back.
