IGP Kayihura sacks police commander over Rukungiri shooting, replaces him with Besigye tormentor

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen. Kale Kayihura has sacked Rukungiri District Police Commander Richard Emuna following Wednesday’s police running battles with age limit removal protesters which led to the shooting of a one Edison Nasasira dead and others injured.

Emuna has been replaced by Moses Nanok, an officer who was recently convicted in Police Disciplinary court for beating up Dr. Kizza Besigye’s supporters.

“S.P Nanoka Moses appointed District Police Commander Rukungiri. Current District Police Commander report to Director Human Resources for redeployment’’ Kayihura wrote.

In the mini reshuffle, Kayuhura also appointed A.C.P Abeine Enock, fresh from Course at Bwebajja as chief security officer Makerere University.

In the other changes, C.P Mucunguzi Jackson has been referred for senior command course. The changes, according to Gen. Kayuhura takes immediate effect.
