Democratic Party President Norbert Mao’s woes in the party are far from over.

For long a section of DP members led by Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze have been accusing Mao and his vice Mukasa Mbidde for being in ‘bed’ with incumbent NRM party and that accusation is the main reason why the party is divided into factions (good DP and Bad DP).

Hill Water

Not far from that a journalist known as Okuda has alleged that he has conclusive evidence that Mao picked money to join NRM.

While appearing on NTV’s Fourth Estate show, Okuda said a higly respectable source told him that Mao called the late Gen. Aronda Nyakairima telling him that he wanted to defect to NRM.

Aronda was excited about the development and informed President Yoweri Museveni and in the due course Museveni reportedly asked Aronda to use tye formal ways of defecting.

“State House reportedly gave some money to Mao to facilitate the process. A few days Aronda called Mao to start the defection process but Mao switched off his phone after getting the money,” said Okuda.
