Government has educated District representatives that are set to train farmers how to use the armyworm pesticides next week to fight this pest.
Sarah Namubiru the agricultural representative in Luwero district said that trainers are ready to teach farmers door to door the ways of destroying the armyworm.
“We are set and the farmers are eagerly waiting for the trainers to train them how to spray and use the pesticides that kill this pest.” Namubiru said.
Namubiru added that the armyworm which destroyed crops mostly maize in over 20 districts is soon to be destroyed and the training program is going to be carried out in all affected districts.
Remember the government put shs1 billion in the project of eradicating armyworm pest in Uganda.
