Democratic Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) has expelled three of its core members from the party for allegedly operating in a way contradictory to the party’s rules and regulations.
The expelled members include; current State Minister for the youths Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, Makumbi husband of the late Winnie Makumbi and Stella Kiryowa.
This comes at a time when the party is at a verge of collapse and recently the party National Chairperson Muhammad Kezaala resigned from the position to take up President Yoweri Museveni’s Deputy Ambassadorial role.
Meanwhile, a section of members in the oldest party in Uganda accuse Preaident Museveni to be the root cause of despair in the party since for a while he has developed a habit of recruiting the struggling party members to side with the incumbent party NRM.
