Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament Betty Nambooze will today at 3pm set off to Manipal Spine Care Centre in India for further treatment.

Ever since she was given a police bond over MP Ibrahim Abiriga murder case, Nambooze has been receiving pain relief treatment at Bugolobi Medical Centre.

According to Nambooze, Parliament released $7,500 (about Shs Shs29m) for her review but it did not consider the fact that she would be treated and re-operated on.

“I hope Parliament can reconsider and release for me the money for treatment. However, if they don’t, I have friends, I won’t die here. A report from the doctors in India indicates that I will need to pay about Shs75m,” She told Daily Monitor on Monday.

Apparently, Nambooze is one of the opposition legislators who were badly injured during  the Age Limit fracas at parliament on 27 September, 2017.

On November 2, a sedated Nambooze was flown to India for a spinal surgery after being treated for more than a month at Bugolobi Medical Centre in Kampala.
